For years, we’ve been suggesting this service for clients who are looking for a major boost to their skin but might not be ready for a full Laser Skin Rejuvenation treatment. Meet Our New Esthetician: Olivia Crary!

For anyone who has ever been in to see us here at Lapiel, you know that we operate very much as a family business. So when we decided to grow our little family we wanted to make sure that we were going to find someone who could not only provide the best possible service to our amazing clients, but someone who would fit into the wonderfully wacky environment we’ve created here. Cue Olivia: A former student of our current esthetician Julie and an honest to goodness ray of sunshine, we could not be more excited to have her join the team! Meet Olivia

Olivia was born and raised in New Glarus, Wi. (Yes, the town with the Spotted Cow!) She attended North Central College, in Naperville, IL and graduated with a BA in 2015. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Chicago and attended the Aveda Institute, where Julie was her instructor and mentor. Olivia recently joined the Lapiel team as their newst Eshtetician and Client Coordinator. After working as Esthetician in the Subarbs for a couple of years, Olivia was able to hone her skills and bring her experience with Glytone to Lapiel. Her favorite service would have to be Teen Facials which helps teens to improve their ever changing skin. She loves to help clients gain confidence through proper skincare practices

Olivia lives in Buena Park, and when not extracting people’s skin, she can be found exploring Chicago, binge watching Netflix with her cat Dolly Parton, and cruising up to Wisconsin to snuggle her three adorable nephews.

Plan Out Your Treatment Schedule– This summer I’ll be wearing Maxi skirts to keep my legs covered while staying cool. With Laser, my skin needs to be protected from the sun as much as possible. In my opinion, one summer of extra precautions is a small price to pay, but many of my beach babe friends would be struggling to stay out of the sun through these next couple months. If you’re planning for a specific event, like a wedding or vacation, discuss this in advance as well.
Use the Numbing Cream– I don’t know what award I was trying to win by not using the suggested numbing application before my first few underarm treatments, but with my legs I took precautions! Because it’s a large area, it’s a longer appointment and the repetition of the Laser can be a bit more intense. I apply the cream two hours before I go in, and it is night and day in pain management! I can always tell if I’ve missed a spot!
Take an Ibuprofen– Again, I don’t know why I needed to go in without Ibuprofen before, but I won’t again! A few weeks back, I had my Wisdom Teeth removed. My recovery was fairly painless and quick, so I had quite a few of my prescription Ibuprofen left over. I decided to take one before I went in for my last treatment and again the pain management was night and day!
Follow the Post Treatment Recommendations– Again, you’re investing here. Follow the post care instructions to achieve the best results. Keep your treatments on schedule, stay out of the sun, and don’t wax or pluck.
