Free Apricot Body Oil When You Donate School Supplies This Fall

Help us help some very deserving CPS Students this fall!

Recently one of our amazing clients told us about her classroom at Schmid Elementary on Chicago’s South Side.  Schmid Elementary is  a Pre-k through 8th grade, title 1 school. It is small neighborhood school so the supplies truly benefit the entire school. Quinlan, a teacher at Schmid (and an amazing Barre teacher over at Pure Barre Lakeview) described the very real need for basic supplies like paper and pencils and things we sometimes take for granted as our kids get ready to head into the new school year. With that in mind we were driven to find a way to help her help her students after the initial back-to-school rush!

Bring in any two items from the list below and we’ll treat you to a full size version of our Eminence Organic Apricot Body Oil!

Lapiel Chemical Peels featured on West of Felicity

Meet Allison of the blog West of Felicity! We recently got to know this amazing lady as she embarked on a plan to kick her skin care routine up a notch by adding a few corrective steps to her regimen. After consulting with Julie, she decided to start with a package of Glytone Chemical Peels here at Lapiel. We all know that peels can often times feel scary, out of reach or take you back to that infamous episode of Sex And The City where Samantha looses half her face. Check out Alison’s post and see the reality of what it’s like to get a peel in 2017. We promise– only happy, healthy, glowing skin at the end of these peels!

Read about her experience with chemical peels, products and how she found Lapiel here.

Some of our favorite highlights from Allison’s post

On why she decided to add  a professional treatment to her routine:

“I wish I had the maturity to think ahead when I was younger and consider the skin of my future 20, 30 or 50 year old self. I’m sure just like many of you, nothing was more important than soaking up those beautiful rays of sunshine. To the naked eye, my skin looks normal for a 20 something woman (hopefully). But, I know what it has endured, so I know what’s lying just below the surface and slowly making its way up to say “I told you so.”

That’s why I have this corrective step. I’ll never see the supple, smooth, healthy skin I want if I don’t take the steps to correct the damage of my younger years. So, I’m kicking up my routine and working toward a clean slate, where my products will be more efficient and my skin will have the healthy youthful glow it deserves.”

Allison did a series of three peels and offers up some really amazing before and afters on her post. She describes her experience with 2 of our post popular kinds of peels and lets you know what to expect from each.

On Protecting your Skin:

“This is probably the most important way to influence your skins health and appearance. The pollutants in the air and harsh rays of our beloved sun take a serious toll on our skin. It was always hard for me to take serious because you can’t see the effects…yet. I have to remind myself that the tan fades but the wrinkle and spots settle in for years to come.

SUNSCREEN FUN FACTS

20 SPF protects for 2 hours
30 SPF protects for 3 hours
50 SPF only protects 5% more than 30 SPF, and still only lasts 3 hours…
REAPPLY!”

The Busy Girl’s Guide To Summer Skin

Blogger, Stylist and Beautyprenuer Lynzie Wellin of the Blog LyfeStyle Win recently shared her experience with Laser Hair Removal on her blog

See how she decided to prep for a busy summer and finally ditch that razor!

Here are some of her prep tips:

Do Your Research– Laser Hair Removal is an investment. With anything, you get what you pay for. Catalina’s medical background, experience, and her level of care sets Lapiel apart.
Plan Out Your Treatment Schedule– This summer I’ll be wearing Maxi skirts to keep my legs covered while staying cool. With Laser, my skin needs to be protected from the sun as much as possible. In my opinion, one summer of extra precautions is a small price to pay, but many of my beach babe friends would be struggling to stay out of the sun through these next couple months. If you’re planning for a specific event, like a wedding or vacation, discuss this in advance as well.
Use the Numbing Cream– I don’t know what award I was trying to win by not using the suggested numbing application before my first few underarm treatments, but with my legs I took precautions! Because it’s a large area, it’s a longer appointment and the repetition of the Laser can be a bit more intense. I apply the cream two hours before I go in, and it is night and day in pain management! I can always tell if I’ve missed a spot!
Take an Ibuprofen– Again, I don’t know why I needed to go in without Ibuprofen before, but I won’t again! A few weeks back, I had my Wisdom Teeth removed. My recovery was fairly painless and quick, so I had quite a few of my prescription Ibuprofen left over. I decided to take one before I went in for my last treatment and again the pain management was night and day!
Follow the Post Treatment Recommendations– Again, you’re investing here. Follow the post care instructions to achieve the best results. Keep your treatments on schedule, stay out of the sun, and don’t wax or pluck.

Getting Married? We’ve Got Your Beauty Timeline!

You’re engaged! While I’m sure you’ve thought about the big things like venue, caterers and flowers, most people don’t start thinking about their bridal beauty services until its too late! Here is a simple guide for brides AND grooms to help plan for some of our most popular pre-wedding services, along with the best times to start thinking about them. Schedule a free consultation and let us help you look your best on your big day!

Laser Hair Removal— 12 Months

No one wants to deal with plucking, waxing, shaving or tweezing leading up to their big day! Whether it’s a strapless dress or a beachside honeymoon you’re planning for, you should consider booking your first laser appointment about a year before your wedding day. Most areas require 6-8 sessions and are booked every 5-6 weeks. What this means is that entire process, from start to finish can take up to a year to complete. After just one treatment we’re sure you’ll wish you’d started years ago! Get ready show off smooth, bump free skin in time for your wedding.

Botox – 6 Months

When you look back at your wedding photos, the only thing that should look dated is your dress! More and more brides are looking to kick their beauty regimen up a notch in preparation for the big day. In some cases this means adding Botox to their to-do list. If you choose to go this route, we recommend doing two rounds before the wedding day with your first visit scheduled at least six months prior to ensure you are happy with your results. Your second visit should be scheduled 1 month before the wedding so that you are looking your absolute best on your wedding day.

Skin Care— 3-6 Months

We always want picture perfect skin, but its extra important on the day all cameras are pointed your way. We offer a myriad of options when it comes to Skin Care for both brides and grooms. Some of our most popular? Silkpeel Diamond Glow and Glytone Chemical Peels. A step beyond the traditional facial, these game-changing treatments can handle anything from acne to hyperpigmentation. The only catch is you may need a few treatments, which is why we recommend giving yourself a few months to get your skin where you’d like to be. Take advantage of our free consultations and outline your goals with our Esthetician who can put together a treatment plan for you!

Latisse—3 Months

Forget the false lashes and grow your own darker, thicker, longer lashes with Latisse! Full results take 16 weeks so make sure to pick up a box at least three months before your wedding and get ready to bat those lashes in every photo!
