Why We Love The Combo

As many of our clients know we have long preached the benefits of alternating both these amazing treatments. What we found after years of creating customized treatments for our clients was that in some cases, our clients were looking for a treatment that combined the best of both services: Physical & Chemical Exfolation. Combining our two signature skin care services allowed for deeper penetration of the chemical peel. The results? Radiant skin and big changes in a shorter amount time! After months of practicing with our own staff and friends, we developed safe, completely personalized treatment protocol for some of our client’s most pressing concerns: Acne, Hyperpigmentation and Fine Lines.

Is There Downtime?

Unlike both the Chemical Peels and the Diamond Glow treatments, there is some downtime associated with combinging both treatments. However, peeling is limited and typically starts 1-2 days post treatment and lasts 3-7 days if at all. Mostly, you’ll noticed increased “dryness” as the skin starts to shed, which can be improved with the use of a heavy moisturizer.

How Often?

Depending on the desired results, we typically recommend a series of three sessions spaced every 5-6 for best results.

Important Notes Beforehand

Discontinue the use of retinols and retinoids a least a week before your visit
Limit sun exposure both 1 week before and 1 week after your visit

What happens during your Silkpeel Diamond Glow?

“Okay so let’s translate this into terms that we can wrap our brains around. This is what really goes down- your aesthetician prepares your skin for the treatment by taking off any makeup and cleansing with a wash that suits your skincare needs. Next, you talk about your desired results from the treatment. For me, I said clearer, more radiant skin. I’d been experiencing some breakouts and texture around my forehead (a place I rarely ever breakout,) so I wanted to get rid of that ASAP.

“The procedure starts on your neck, where the aesthetician does one layer of treatment. The best way I can describe the feeling is if you imagined the suction tool they use at the dentist, remember that little hose? Imagine that being swiped across your face and neck. It’s totally painless, not uncomfortable or unpleasant at all. If anything it’s a little ticklish! My favorite part of the treatment is the end when you can see your “waste jar” that is holding everything that was sucked out of your pores! I’m not joking, you can see actual blackheads floating around in the water, and it’s absolutely magical. Talk about real-time results!”
