How Does SkinPen Work?
The SkinPen creates controlled microchannels in the skin that trigger your body’s natural healing response. These micro channels, or micro injuries, jumpstart the production of collagen and elastin and encourage the release of growth factors that recruit and increase reparative cells. The result is a cascade of healing processes that can continue for months after your treatment. This means you not only see immediate results but the improvements continue over time!
What does the downtime look like?
Plan to lay low for about 3-4 days. Everyone’s post procedure downtime really does differ from person to person. Day 1 (treatment day) and 2 can leave skin looking slightly red and swollen with some cases of pinpoint bleeding. In this time you may experience some flakiness and warm spots. All very normal and part of the healing process.
For best results, you should avoid direct sun exposure and working out for a minimum 3 days.
When will I see results?

How many treatments do I need?
It depends on your treatment goals. For those dealing with acne scaring and textural issues you may need more than one package to achieve your desired results. For those looking to boost their natural collagen and elastin, you may want to incorporate SkinPen into your seasonal routine. That is what is so amazing about SkinPen, it is a versatile treatment ideal for all skin types and concerns!
How much does SkinPen cost?
A single SkinPen Treatment will run you $425 for the face area with an additional $125 should you choose to include the neck area.
A three session package of the face is $1200 with a complementary neck treatment as our introductory offer!
How do I prepare for treatment?
Always start by scheduling your free consultation with one of our talented Nurse Practitioners. Together they will help you come up with a plan that works for your schedule and skin.
Once you’ve made your first appointment, we recommend that you avoid using any sort of retinol, salicylic acid, AHA, glycolic or any other active ingredient for 3-5 days before your treatment.
On the day of your visit we ask that you apply a liberal amount of numbing cream, such as lidocaine 5% or higher, an hour before your visit. Please remember to pack a hat for post treatment! In office we will have you throughly wash cleanse your face
What should I know about post treatment care?
- Do Not wash the area or apply any other product other than the gel that has been sent home with you for the first 48 hours.
- You may put the Skinfuse Gel in the refrigerator for extra cooling and soothing post treatment. Use this gel as necessary.
- In that timeframe you will avoid sun exposure, strenuous exercise, hot tubs and touching the area.
- Change your pillowcase following your treatment.
- Bruising, pinpoint bleeding, redness, swelling, peeling and purging are all normal. Avoid picking.
- You may resume SPF on day three post procedure and resume your normal skincare routine.
What is the ideal time to schedule my appointment?
This treatment requires downtime. The ideal time to schedule would be anytime you can lay low for 2-3 days. Schedule at least one month before any major occasion such as a wedding or special event.
